Clinton is a small town on the southern tip of Whidbey Island, in the northern Puget Sound of Washington State. Its ferry dock makes it a popular gateway for exploring the rest of the island.

Maxwelton is an unincorporated community located on the south end of Whidbey Island, Washington. A post office called Maxwelton was established in 1908 and remained in operation until 1924. The community was named after Maxwelltown, in Scotland. Maxwelton is situated 5 miles southwest of Clinton Beach.
