Gamleborg, also known as Gamleborg Viking Fortress, was the first fortification on the Danish island of Bornholm. Built around 750 AD, it was the seat of the kings of Bornholm during the Viking age and early Middle Ages. Gamleborg is situated 2½ km southwest of Rappekær.

Rytterknægten is the highest point on the Danish island of Bornholm at 162 metres above sea level. The bierg is situated on a wooded bedrock of gaiter formations in the middle of Almindingen forest. Aakirkeby is located about 5 kilometres to the southeast. Rytterknægten is situated 3½ km southwest of Rappekær.

It is best known for its round church, the largest on the island. 1. January 2025 it had a population of 254. Østerlars is situated 4 km northeast of Rappekær.

Aarsballe is a village located in the centre of the Danish island of Bornholm. It is at a crossroads formed by the main road from Rønne to Østerlars and a secondary road from Aakirkeby to Klemensker. As of 2009, it has a population of 86. Aarsballe is situated 4½ km west of Rappekær.

Østermarie is a village on the Danish island of Bornholm, 8 km west of Svaneke. Founded ca. 1880, its old church, now a ruin, dates back to the 12th century. The population as of 1 January 2025 is 459. Østermarie is situated 5 km east of Rappekær.
