The National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, is located in Astana. When it was built in 2014, it was the largest museum in Central Asia. Made up of blue glass and white marble depicts Kazakhstan's history and culture from prehistoric times to the present. National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan is situated 330 metres southwest of Palace of Independence.

Palace of Peace and Reconciliation is situated 660 metres northwest of Palace of Independence.
