The Solvay Institute of Sociology is a sociology institute in Brussels, Belgium. It assumed its first "definitive form" on 16 November 1902, when its founder Ernest Solvay, a wealthy Belgian chemist, industrialist, and philanthropist, inaugurated the original edifice of SIS in Leopold Park.Photo: EmDee, CC BY-SA 3.0.
