The Golestan Palace is the former official royal Qajar complex in Tehran, Iran. One of the oldest historic monuments in the capital and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Golestan Palace consists of a group of eight palatial royal structures surrounded by a wall, today used mainly as museums, surrounded by an outer wall, which were once enclosed within the defensive walls of Tehran's citadel. Golestan Palace is situated 110 metres east of The Marble Throne.

Shams-ol-Emareh is one of Tehran’s historic buildings and a remnant of Qajar Iran. It is one of the most prominent buildings on the east side of Golestan Palace. Shamsol Emare is situated 270 metres east of The Marble Throne.

The building was designed by Czech architect Stanislav Sůva in the Neoclassical style to house 1,200 employees, serving as the Ministry of Justice, the law court, and the criminal and civil courts. Courthouse of Tehran is situated 170 metres northwest of The Marble Throne.
