Harlech Castle in Harlech, Gwynedd, Wales, is a Grade I listed medieval fortification built onto a rocky knoll close to the Irish Sea. It was built by Edward I during his invasion of Wales between 1282 and 1289 at the relatively modest cost of £8,190. Harlech Castle is situated 1½ miles southwest of Erw Wen.

Formerly at the edge of the parish of Llandecwyn, the hamlet was served by the church of Saint Tecwyn in the hills above Llandecwyn, and a Wesleyan Methodist chapel at the other end of the Bryn Bwbach to Esingrug road.
