Kinder Reservoir is a public water storage reservoir on the western edge of Kinder Scout plateau in Derbyshire. The reservoir lies at the head of the Kinder Valley, 278 metres above sea level and 3 kilometres to the north east of the village of Hayfield.

Chapel Milton is a hamlet on the outskirts of Chapel-en-le-Frith on the road leading from there to Chinley and to Glossop. Within the parish of Chinley, Buxworth and Brownside, it takes its name from the site of a medieval corn mill, Maynstonfield Mill, or “Mainstonefield alias Chinley”. Chapel Milton is situated 3 miles south of The Ashes.
