The Seattle Washington Temple is the 21st constructed and 19th operating temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Located in the city of Bellevue, east of Seattle, it was the first to be built in the state of Washington.

Although Newcastle was not incorporated until 1994, it has been an important settlement and town since the late 19th century and played a major role in the development of Seattle and the surrounding region.
