Scaffaiolo Lake

Lake Scaffaiolo is a mountain lake located in the municipality of Fanano, in the Province of Modena, Italy, within the high Modenese Apennines. Its name is believed to derive from the term scaffa, a likely Lombard word meaning “a hollow in the ground” or “a depression.” The lake lies at an elevation of 1,775 meters and has a surface area of 0.05 km².

Cutigliano was a comune in the province of Pistoia in the Italian region Tuscany, located about 50 kilometres northwest of Florence and about 25 kilometres northwest of Pistoia. It has been a frazione of Abetone Cutigliano since 2017. Cutigliano is situated 4½ km southwest of Scaffaiolo Lake.
