Kawara-dera was a Buddhist temple established during the Asuka period in the village of Asuka, Nara Prefecture, Japan. Archaeological excavations have revealed a large-scale complex which included two Kondō, a pagoda, extensive priests' quarters, and roof tiles that are "among the most beautiful ever made in Japan". Kawahara-dera is situated 260 metres north of Tachibana-dera.

Ishibutai kofun is a Kofun period burial mound, located in the village of Asuka, Nara in the Kansai region of Japan. The tumulus was designated a National Historic Site of Japan in 1935. Ishibutai Kofun is situated 1 km southeast of Tachibana-dera.
