Hugo Preuß Bridge

The Hugo Preuß Bridge was a historically significant bridge spanning the Humboldthafen basin on the River Spree in Berlin-Mitte. Originally constructed in the 1920s, the bridge was named after the liberal Jewish politician and constitutional lawyer Hugo Preuß, a key architect of the Weimar Constitution.

One of the best-known landmarks of the country, it was erected on the site of a former city gate that marked the start of the road from Berlin to Brandenburg an der Havel, the former capital of the Margraviate of Brandenburg. Brandenburg Gate is situated 1 km southeast of Hugo Preuß Bridge.
