The Shwemawdaw Pagoda is a Buddhist located in Bago, . At 125 m in overall height, the Shwemadaw is the tallest stupa in the world. The annual pagoda festival is a 10-day affair that takes place during the Burmese month of Tagu.

The Shwethalyaung Temple (Burmese: ရွှေသာလျှောင်းဘုရား is a in the west side of Bago, Myanmar. The name Shwethalyaung means "Golden Image of the Sleeping Buddha" and the temple houses a reclining Buddha statue in the temple is 55 metres in length and 15 metres in height. is situated 2½ miles west of Shwemawdaw Paya.
