Horton Plains National Park is in central Sri Lanka. It is a forested highland plateau area with the most extensive area of cloud forest in Sri Lanka. Horton Plains is one of a group of three highland parks listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List as Central Highlands of Sri Lanka; the others are the Knuckles Mountain Range and the Peak Wilderness Protected Area.

Gonmollikanda is regarded as the 13th highest mountain in Sri Lanka situated at 2,034 m above mean sea level. The mountain got its name from the native language of Sri Lanka, Sinhala as the peak of the mountain has a shape of hump of a bull.

Bambarakanda Falls is the tallest waterfall in Sri Lanka. With a height of 263 m, it ranks as the 461st highest waterfall in the world. Situated in Kalupahana in the Badulla District, this waterfall is 5 km away from the A4 Highway. Bambarakanda Falls is situated 2½ km east of Border Plains.
