St Helen's Church, an Anglican church in the Hangleton area of Hove, is the oldest surviving building in the English city of Brighton and Hove. It is the ancient parish church of Hangleton, an isolated South Downs village that was abandoned by the Middle Ages and was open farmland until the Interwar Period, when extensive residential development took place. St Helen’s Church, Hangleton is situated 1,800 feet west of Hangleton Park.

The area grew rapidly during the inter-war period, but unlike nearby Hangleton, it had more infrastructure which were; St Peter's Church, a working farm, a windmill and an industrial area grouped around the Goldstone Pumping Station and its workers' cottages.
