Korea University is a private research university in Seoul, South Korea. Established in 1905 as Bosung College by Lee Yong-Ik, a prominent official of the Korean Empire, Korea University is among South Korea's oldest institutions of higher education, and is the nation's first modern private university. Korea University Sejong Campus is situated 230 metres southwest of 학군단.

The Gyeongbu line is a railway line in South Korea and is considered to be the most important and one of the oldest in the country. It was constructed in 1905, connecting Seoul with Busan via Suwon, Daejeon, and Daegu. Seochang station is situated 1½ km north of 학군단.
