It is served by the District and Piccadilly lines in a manner of cross-platform interchange, although Piccadilly line trains normally stop at the station only at the beginning and end of the day, running through non-stop at other times. A "glorious" example of Neo-Palladian architecture in west London, the house was designed and built by Richard Boyle, 3rd Earl of Burlington, and completed in 1729. Chiswick House is situated 2,300 feet south of Glebe Estate.
