The Mount Pleasant Indian Industrial Boarding School in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, was established by an act of the United States Congress in 1891. This provided funding for creation of an education system of off-reservation boarding schools and vocational training centers to educate Native American children. Mount Pleasant Indian Industrial Boarding School is situated 1¼ miles west of Central Michigan University Global Campus.
