The Myazedi inscription, inscribed in 1113, is an inscription of the same proclamation in four languages: Old Burmese, Pali, Old Mon and Pyu. The four texts are found in nearly identical form on two stone pillars. Mya Zedi Pagoda is situated 1,300 feet southeast of 1444.

The temple is situated adjacent to the Manuha Temple and is believed to have been built by King Makuta, the captive monarch of the defeated Thaton Kingdom.
