St Anne's Church serves in the Church of England the section of . It was consecrated on 21 March 1686 by Bishop Henry Compton as the of the new civil and ecclesiastical parish of St Anne Within the Liberty of Westminster, created from part of the parish of St Martin in the Fields.

Designed by the architect Lewin Sharp for owner Henry Lowenfeld, it became the fourth legitimate theatre to be constructed on the street when it opened its doors on 21 February 1901, with the American musical comedy The Belle of Bohemia. is situated 440 feet southwest of St Anne’s Church.
