Berlin Peace Column

The Peace Column is a column located in Mehringplatz in Berlin, Germany. Designed by Christian Gottlieb Cantian and erected in 1843, the 19-meter column is topped with a brass statue of Victoria, goddess of victory, designed by Christian Daniel Rauch.

Mehringplatz is a round plaza at the southern tip of the Friedrichstadt neighborhood of Kreuzberg district, Berlin. It marks the southern end of Friedrichstraße.

The Jewish Museum Berlin was opened in 2001 and is the largest Jewish museum in Europe. On 3,500 square metres of floor space, the museum presents the history of the Jews in Germany from the Middle Ages to the present day, with new focuses and new scenography. Jewish Museum Berlin is situated 440 metres northeast of Berlin Peace Column.

Checkpoint Charlie

Checkpoint Charlie was the Western Bloc's name for the best-known Berlin Wall crossing point between East Berlin and West Berlin during the Cold War, becoming a symbol of the Cold War, representing the separation of East and West. Checkpoint Charlie is situated 1 km north of Berlin Peace Column.
