Muristan
The Muristan is a complex of streets and shops in the Christian Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem. It was the location of the first Bimaristan of the Knights Hospitaller. The name Muristan is derived from the Persian word Bimārestān, meaning "hospital".Photo: Jorge Láscar, CC BY 2.0.

The Mosque of Omar is a mosque, located inside the Old City of Jerusalem. Situated opposite the southern courtyard of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, in the Muristan area of the Christian Quarter, the mosque is not open to tourists, and can be accessed only for praying.

The area lies in the southwestern sector of the walled city, and stretches from the Zion Gate in the south, along the Armenian Quarter on the west, up to the Street of the Chain in the north and extends to the Western Wall and the Temple Mount in the east.
