The ancient Roman aqueduct of Paris supplied Roman Paris, then called Lutetia. It was a significant engineering and architectural achievement, bringing water from the south, 26 km distant under gravity with a constant gradual slope. Roman aqueduct of Paris is situated 120 metres southwest of Pont-Aqueduc d’Arcueil.
