Longhoughton Quarry is a Site of Special Scientific Interest in north Northumberland in North East England. The site is a now disused quarry which yielded whinstone, a hard dark rock associated in Northumberland with the Whin Sill. Longhoughton Quarry is situated 1,300 feet east of Peppermoor.

Ratcheugh Observatory is a late 18th-century folly on a prominent crag between Alnwick and Longhoughton in north Northumberland, England. Commissioned by Hugh Percy, 1st Duke of Northumberland, the castellated Observatory incorporates a viewing tower with prospects of Alnwick and its castle, and of the North Sea coast at Boulmer. Ratcheugh Observatory is situated 2,200 feet south of Peppermoor.
