A herbarium is a collection of preserved plant specimens and associated data used for scientific study. The specimens may be whole plants or plant parts; these will usually be in dried form mounted on a sheet of paper but, depending upon the material, may also be stored in boxes or kept in alcohol or other preservative. Herbarium is situated 450 metres southwest of Brigade fluviale.

The Pont d'Austerlitz is a bridge which crosses the Seine River in Paris, France. It owes its name to the battle of Austerlitz. Pont d’Austerlitz is situated 140 metres southeast of Brigade fluviale.

The Bastille was a medieval fortress in Paris, known as the Bastille Saint-Antoine. It played an important role in the internal conflicts of France and for most of its history was used as a state prison by the kings of France. Ruins of Bastille is situated 1 km north of Brigade fluviale.

The Faubourg Saint-Antoine was one of the traditional suburbs of Paris, France. It grew up to the east of the Bastille around the abbey of Saint-Antoine-des-Champs, and ran along the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine.

The 4th is a good chunk of what used to be medieval Paris, and you'll find a lot left from that time on both islands and in the narrow streets of the lower Marais.

5th arrondissement

The 5th Arrondissement of Paris is one of the best known of the city's central districts, located on the Left Bank of the river Seine. Also commonly known as the "Latin Quarter" because the first great Parisian university, the Sorbonne, was founded here and Latin was the language the medieval period students used once to speak.
