Hulne Priory

Hulne Priory, Hulne Friary or Hulne Abbey was a friary founded in 1240 by the Carmelites or 'Whitefriars'. It is said that the Northumberland site, quite close to Alnwick, was chosen for some slight resemblance to Mount Carmel where the order originated. Hulne Priory is situated 2 miles southeast of Shipley Lane.

Eglingham is a village in Northumberland, England, situated about 7 miles north-west of Alnwick and 10 miles from Wooler. It lies in the sheltered valley of the Eglingham Burn, a tributary of the River Aln, about 100 metres above sea level, in a rural conservation area set amongst rolling countryside, within 5 miles of the Cheviot Hills. Eglingham is situated 2½ miles west of Shipley Lane.
