RM Stonehouse

Stonehouse Barracks, or RM Stonehouse, is a military installation at Stonehouse, Plymouth. It is the home of the UK Commando Force and referred to by commandos as 'the spiritual home of the Royal Marines'. RM Stonehouse is situated 1,600 feet west of Millbay Marina.

Smeaton's Tower is a redundant lighthouse, now a memorial to civil engineer John Smeaton, designer of the third and most notable Eddystone Lighthouse. A major step forward in lighthouse design, Smeaton's structure was in use from 1759 to 1877, until erosion of the ledge it was built upon forced new construction. Eddystone Light is situated 2,400 feet east of Millbay Marina.

Drake's Island is a 6.5-acre island approximately 500 metres from land in Plymouth Sound, the stretch of water south of the city of Plymouth, Devon. The rocks which make up the island are volcanic tuff and lava, together with marine limestone of the Devonian period.
