Villa of Augustus
The so-called Villa of Augustus is an ancient Roman villa in Somma Vesuviana that may have been owned by Augustus, the first emperor of Rome. In April 2024, archaeologists from the University of Tokyo claimed to have discovered the possible identity of the villa after excavations that started in 2002.Photo: Sergioizzo, CC BY-SA 3.0.
