Milecastle 22 was a milecastle of the Roman Hadrian's Wall. Its remains exist as a low, turf covered platform just east of the Portgate roundabout. The platform is 0.5 metres on the east side, reducing to only a parch mark on the west side. Milecastle 22 is situated 1¼ miles northeast of Chapel Of St Aidan.

Sandhoe Hall, also once known as Sandhoe House, is a 19th-century country house situated at Sandhoe, Northumberland. It is a Grade II listed building. The Sandhoe estate was owned by the Errington family of nearby Beaufront, but when Henry Errington died childless in 1819, it passed to his great-grandnephew Rowland Stanley of Puddington Hall, Cheshire, son of Sir Thomas Stanley Bt. Sandhoe Hall is situated 1 mile southwest of Chapel Of St Aidan.
