Meadow Well is a Tyne and Wear Metro station, serving the suburbs of Chirton and Meadow Well, North Tyneside in Tyne and Wear, England. It joined the network as Smith's Park on 14 November 1982, following the opening of the fourth phase of the network, between Tynemouth and St James via Wallsend. Arbeia was a large Roman fort in South Shields, Tyne & Wear, England, now ruined and partially reconstructed. It was first excavated in the 1870s. All modern buildings on the site were cleared in the 1970s. Arbeia is situated 1 mile east of Chirton Dene Park.
