Lake Caroline is a census-designated place in Caroline County, Virginia, United States. The population as of the 2010 Census was 2,260. It is a gated lakeside subdivision located approximately 2 miles south of Ladysmith and 10 miles north of Doswell. Lake Caroline is situated 1½ miles south of Ladysmith Substation.

It was the site of a Quaker meetinghouse from 1739 until 1853; in 1767 members of the congregation became the first Quakers in Virginia to call for an end to slavery in the United States.
