Der Bahnhof Bénestroff war bis in die 1950er Jahre ein wichtiger Eisenbahnknoten, in dem zwei Hauptbahnen und eine Nebenbahn verknüpft waren: In ihm schnitten sich die beiden zweigleisig ausgebauten Strecken Metz–Strasbourg und Sarreguemines–Nancy.
