Minoa was an ancient town on the island of Amorgos. It was the birthplace of Simonides of Amorgos. The site of Minoa is located near modern Katapola, on Moundoulia Hill. Minoa is situated 3½ km northwest of Kávos Stoúpi.

Katapola is a small port village on the Greek island of Amorgos, the easternmost island of the Cyclades. It is located at the foot of a hill which was once the site of the ancient town of Minoa. Katapola is situated 4 km north of Kávos Stoúpi.

Amorgos is the easternmost island of the Cyclades island group and the nearest island to the neighboring Dodecanese island group in Greece. Along with 16 neighbouring islets, the largest of which is Nikouria Island, it comprises the municipality of Amorgos, which has a land area of 126.346 square kilometres and at the 2021 census had a population of 1,961.
