Ben-Gurion's hut was the retirement home of Israeli Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion and his wife Paula from 1953 until Ben-Gurion's death in 1973. The "hut", located on kibbutz Sde Boker, was preserved exactly as it was left by Ben-Gurion and now serves as a museum with a visitor center operated by the Ben-Gurion Heritage Institute. Ben Gurion’s Desert Home is situated 3½ km northwest of Ma‘alé Ẕin.

Sde Boker is a kibbutz in the central Negev, most famous for being the past residence of the first prime minister of Israel, David Ben-Gurion, who moved there after he left his office in order to live his ideals of settling the Negev.

Merhav Am is a religious community settlement in southern Israel. Located in the Negev desert between Yeruham and the kibbutz of Sde Boker, it falls under the jurisdiction of Ramat HaNegev Regional Council. In 2023 it had a population of 641. Merhav Am is situated 4½ km north of Ma‘alé Ẕin.
