Located in the north-western Negev between Ofakim and Netivot, it falls under the jurisdiction of Bnei Shimon Regional Council and covers an area of around 1,200 dunams. In 2023 it had a population of 445. Ta’ashur is situated 4 km southwest of Tel esh-Sharia.

Mishmar HaNegev is a kibbutz in the northern fringe of the Negev desert in southern Israel. Located on Road 264, about two kilometres south of the Bedouin city of Rahat and around ten kilometres from Beersheba, it falls under the jurisdiction of Bnei Shimon Regional Council. Mishmar HaNegev is situated 4½ km southeast of Tel esh-Sharia.
