Akçakale is a municipality and district of Şanlıurfa Province, Turkey. Its area is 1,038 km2, and its population is 123,721. Akçakale forms a divided city with Tell Abyad in Syria, maintaining a border crossing. Akçakale is situated 6 km southwest of Fatmakuyu.
