Located at Jalan Taming Sari near the commercial town centre, it is one of the biggest hospitals in Malaysia and is the second biggest in the State of Perak. Taiping Hospital is situated 2½ km southeast of Kampong Asam Kumbang.

Kamunting is situated 3 km northeast of Kampong Asam Kumbang.
