Hillwood is a small town approximately 25.5 kilometres north of Launceston. Hillwood is known for its Hillwood Berry Farm, Millers Orchard, Egg Island and various amenities including a sports oval which is used by the Hillwood Sharks Football Club in the NTFA. Hillwood is situated 7 km southeast of Drumstick Island.

Perhaps infamous for the 2006 Beaconsfield mine collapse – one of the worst mining accidents in Tasmanian history, the quaint town on the western banks of the Tamar River is possibly one of the best places in Tasmania to learn about the state's gold mining industry.

Beauty Point is a town by the Tamar River, in the north-east of Tasmania, Australia. It lies 45 km north of Launceston, on the West Tamar Highway and at the 2016 census, had a population of 1,222. It is part of the Municipality of West Tamar Council.
