Swona is an uninhabited privately owned island in the Pentland Firth off the north coast of Scotland. It has a herd of feral cattle resulting from the abandonment of stock in 1974. Swona is situated 2½ miles northeast of Outer Sound.

Stroma is an uninhabited island in the Pentland Firth, between Orkney and the mainland of Scotland. It forms part of the civil parish of Canisbay in Caithness, in the Highland council area. Stroma Lighthouse is situated 1½ miles southwest of Outer Sound.
