Glasgow

Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland on Clydeside in the Central Belt. Glasgow reinvented itself from the 1990s, one of the most successful examples in Britain, with a range of developments in industry, culture, cuisine and architecture.
Aberdeen

Aberdeen is the third-largest city in Scotland, United Kingdom, with a population of almost 200,000. It is a harbour city on Scotland's north-east coast, approximately 120 miles north of Edinburgh and 400 miles north of London, where the Rivers Dee and Don meet the North Sea.
Destinations to Discover
Explore places such as Central Belt and North East Scotland.
Central Belt

The Central Belt of Scotland is the broad lowland strip between the Firth of Forth in the east and the Firth of Clyde in the west. It includes Edinburgh and Glasgow the two principal cities, and a string of other large towns: most of the Scottish population live here.
North East Scotland
Scottish Highlands

The Scottish Highlands are the rugged northern and northwestern portion of Scotland. This is the Scotland conjured up by visions of tartan, kilts, Bonnie Prince Charlie and all.
Hebrides

The Hebrides are the islands off the west coast of Scotland - an inner and outer archipelago are separated by the Minch sea channel. They are rugged and thinly populated, but scenic especially on the inner islands.
South West

South West Scotland is a lowland region of Scotland, a triangle bounded to the west by the Firth of Clyde and to the south by the Solway Firth. It's mostly rural, but with a strip of resort towns along the Clyde coast and industry inland.
Orkney Islands
Photo: Massimo Telò, CC BY-SA 3.0.
The Orkney Islands are an archipelago of over 70 islands some 10 miles off the north tip of mainland Scotland. They've been settled since the Neolithic period and have a remarkable collection of standing stones, early settlements and burial cairns, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Shetland Islands

The Shetland Islands are the most northerly part of the United Kingdom, a group of islands 100 mi north of mainland Scotland. The largest town, Lerwick, is closer to Norway than to Edinburgh, and culturally and geographically they feel more Norse than Scottish.
Scottish Borders

The Scottish Borders is a region in south-east Scotland adjoining the border with England. That made medieval Scottish kings keen to embellish it, and they created four magnificent abbeys here.
