Beattock is a village in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, approximately 1⁄2 mile southwest of Moffat and 19 miles north of Dumfries. Beattock was historically served by the A74 road and the West Coast Main Line, however the road has since been upgraded to the A74 motorway and no longer passes through the village. Beattock is situated 2 miles south of Moffat.

The Devil's Beef Tub is a deep, dramatic hollow in the hills north of the Scottish town of Moffat. The 150-metre-deep hollow is formed by four hills, Great Hill, Peat Knowe, Annanhead Hill and Ericstane Hill. Devil’s Beef Tub is situated 5 miles north of Moffat.
