Garelochhead railway station is a railway station serving the village of Garelochhead, on the Gare Loch, in Scotland. This station is on the West Highland Line and is a boundary station for SPT. Garelochhead railway station is situated 1½ miles east of Loch Long.

His Majesty's Naval Base, Clyde, primarily sited at Faslane on the Gare Loch, is one of three operating bases in the United Kingdom for the Royal Navy. HMNB Clyde is situated 2½ miles southeast of Loch Long.

Carrick Castle is a 14th-century tower house on the west shore of Loch Goil on the Cowal Peninsula, in Argyll and Bute, west of Scotland. It is located between Cuilmuich and Carrick, 4 miles south of Lochgoilhead. Carrick Castle is situated 2½ miles northwest of Loch Long.
