Muness Castle is located on Unst, which is one of the Shetland Islands of Scotland. The castle is three kilometres east of the village of Uyeasound. Unst is Scotland's most northerly inhabited island, and Muness is the most northerly fortalice in the British Isles. Muness Castle is situated 2 miles north of Haaf Gruney.

Uyea is an uninhabited tidal island located to the northwest of Mainland, Shetland. Uyea lies off the Northmavine peninsula, from where it can be reached by foot at low tide. Uyea is situated 2 miles west of Haaf Gruney.

Clivocast is a settlement on the island of Unst in the Shetland Islands, Scotland at or grid reference HP6000 and is situated just east of Uyeasound. The 9 ft 10 in Uyea Breck Standing Stone nearby is said to mark the spot where the son of the Viking Harald Harfager was killed some time around 900AD. Clivocast is situated 3 miles northwest of Haaf Gruney.

Uyeasound is a village on the Isle of Unst, the northernmost island of the Shetland Islands, Scotland. It takes its name from the neighbouring strait of the same name, which looks over to the Isle of Uyea. Uyeasound is situated 3 miles northwest of Haaf Gruney.

Belmont is a settlement and ferry terminal in southern Unst in the Shetland Islands. The ferry crosses Bluemull Sound from here to Gutcher in Yell and to Hamars Ness in Fetlar. Belmont House, a Georgian mansion built in 1775 by Thomas Mouat, was restored by Historic Scotland amongst others, and opened to the public in 2011. Belmont is situated 4½ miles west of Haaf Gruney.
