Glenfield Hospital, formally known as Glenfield General Hospital, is situated near Glenfield, on the outskirts of Leicester. It is one of England's main hospitals for coronary care and respiratory diseases.

Kirby Frith is a 2.1-hectare Local Nature Reserve on the western outskirts of Leicester. It is owned and managed by Leicester City Council. This site is described by Natural England as the richest wildflower grassland in the county, with species such as devil's-bit scabious, betony and yellow rattle.

Braunstone is a town and civil parish in the district of Blaby in Leicestershire, England. At the 2011 census the population of the town was 16,850. Braunstone is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086, giving a population of "two sokemen and four villeins". Braunstone Town is situated 2½ miles south of Glenfield.
