An Sgùrr

An Sgùrr is the highest point on the island of Eigg in Scotland's Small Isles. It was formed 59 million years ago; the result of one of the last eruptions of a volcano, the core of which now forms the Isle of Rùm. An Sgùrr is situated 1½ miles northwest of Eilean Chathastail.

Galmisdale is the main port of the island of Eigg, one of the Small Isles of the Inner Hebrides. It is in the Scottish council area of Highland.

Eigg is one of the Small Isles, lying 10 miles off the west coast of Scotland, and with a population of just under 100. The name means "notched" and it's a moorland plateau cleaved by a valley, with the dramatic scarp of An Sgurr looming over it.
