Mavis Grind is a narrow isthmus joining the Northmavine peninsula to the rest of the island of Mainland in the Shetland Islands, Scotland. It is just over 90 metres at its narrowest point. Mavis Grind is situated 2 miles northeast of Brei Ness.

Brae is on Mainland of the Shetland Islands. It was a tiny fishing village then grew rapidly in the 1970s with the construction of Sullom Voe oil terminal, and in 2011 the population was 856.

Clousta is a hamlet on Mainaland, in the island's west, Shetland, Scotland. Approximately seventy people live here, many of whom are commuters, but local industries include mussel farming, and crofting. Clousta is in the parish of Sandsting. Clousta is situated 6 miles south of Brei Ness.
