The 12.8 km river originates in County Sligo and empties into the Atlantic Ocean at Pollacheeny Harbour some 6 kilometres from Enniscrone on the west side of Killala Bay.- Type: Stream

The village name derives from the Irish language term for fish and Iascaigh literally means "abounding in fish", due to the Easky River that lies adjacent to the village itself. Easky is situated 7 km east of Leaffony River.
