Knocknarea is a large prominent hill west of Sligo town in County Sligo, Ireland, with a height of 327 metres. Knocknarea is visually striking as it has steep limestone cliffs and stands on the Coolera Peninsula overlooking the Atlantic coast. Knocknarea is situated 3 km north of Ballysadare Bay.

Beltra is a village in County Sligo, Ireland. Beltra is situated between the Ox Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. There is a public house named AJ's situated near Beltra woods and Beltra Post Office. Beltra is situated 2½ km southwest of Ballysadare Bay.

Knocknahur, also known as Ransboro, is a village in County Sligo, Ireland. Evidence of ancient settlement in the area includes examples of ringforts, souterrains and enclosures in the neighbouring townlands of Knocknahur North and Knocknahur South. Knocknahur is situated 3½ km east of Ballysadare Bay.

Strandhill

Strandhill is a village in County Sligo, 9 km west of Sligo town on the south shore of the bay, with a population in 2022 of 2000. Its name is apt: a great expanse of strand before it and a steep hill behind, the scarp of Knocknarea.
