It is sometimes considered to be the village located at the highest altitude in Europe and is the highest in the European Union with its church located at the Passo d'Eira at 2,209 m. Trepalle is situated 8 km northeast of Stebline.

La Rösa is a hamlet in the upper part of the Val Poschiavo in the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland. It lies at 1,880 metres above sea level on the southern approach to the Bernina Pass, and is in the municipality of Poschiavo, some 9 kilometres north of the village of the same name. La Rösa is situated 9 km south of Stebline.

The Bernina Pass is a high mountain pass in the Bernina Range of the Alps, in the canton of Graubünden in eastern Switzerland. It connects the famous resort town of St. Moritz in the Engadin valley with the Italian-speaking Val Poschiavo, which ends in the Italian town of Tirano in Valtellina. Bernina Pass is situated 10 km southwest of Stebline.
