Muskö naval base

Muskö Naval Base is a Swedish Navy underground naval facility on the island of Muskö just south of Stockholm in Haninge Municipality. The construction of the base started in 1950 and was completed 19 years later in 1969. Muskö naval base is situated 4 km northeast of Vikholmarna.

Nynäshamn is a locality and the seat of Nynäshamn Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden with 16 447 inhabitants in 2023. While interest in the area as a potentially useful port grew from the mid-19th century, it was only with the opening of the railway station to Stockholm in 1901 that Nynäshamn started to develop. Nynäshamn is situated 8 km southwest of Vikholmarna.
