La Brea is a town in southwestern Trinidad, located northeast of Point Fortin and southwest of San Fernando. La Brea is best known as the site of the Pitch Lake, a natural asphalt lake.

Techier is a community in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. It is located in south-western Trinidad and is administered by the Point Fortin Borough Corporation. As of 2011, its population was 1,621. Techier is situated 8 km southwest of Pitch Lake.

Point Fortin is the main town in the lightly populated deep south peninsula of Trinidad. It is not far from the city of San Fernando, it is the gateway to the rich treasure of coastline on both the Gulf of Paria and the Atlantic.
